Reasons for the selection : when we’ve searched the internet some say some of the cultural properties ought to be in museums of other countries, as a way to promote them to other citizens in other countries, so we’ve been pretty much agonizing. But anyway we considered some cultural properties that worth studying ought to be found in a free will of our citizens. So that’s mainly the reason why we’ve selected suwol guan um do.

Bus

One of the most significant things that foreigners must know is traffic.

Today, we are going to tell you about the buses.

To begin with, we will tell you about the essential structure of buses.

The intra city buses in Seongnam are green.

You need to pay either 1200 won for cash, or 1100 won for the card. (It only follows for adults)

If you use cards, you have to pay 100 won at every 5km if you rode it over 10km.

This is the money that is included while get off.

As you can guess, the red buses are red.

You need to pay either 2100 won for cash or 2000 won for the card.(It only follows for adults)

Red buses also have an extra pay while using cards.

You need to pay 100 won for each 5km when you rode it over 30km.

When you use the bus while night time, you need to pay 1850 won.

Transfer is free.

But it is limited to 4 times, in 30 minutes.

Some bus stations have electronic boards,

so you can check the location of the bus you need, and the time that the bus will arrive.

Also, if you want to go back to your departure point,

you need to ride the bus on the station that is on the opposite side

(over the street) of the bus station that you arrived.

However, there are some things you must know. Transfer is only free when you use the cards.

You can use the traffic cards (T-money), or use a credit card that is able for traffic cards.

Transfer is able for bus to bus or bus to other transportations like the subway.

You can put money on the card in convenient stores (Gs-25, 7eleven etc.)

To use the bus card, all you need to do is just put your card on the machine like you can see in the image below.

When you put the card on the machine, a 'beep' sound will follow.

It means that the work has been well done.

And the numbers on the top is the money you used, and the money on the

bottom is the money that is left on your card.

Also, we will tell you how to go to the major places in Korea.

To go to Seoul station form Seongnam city hall,

you can ride No. 51, No. 220, No. 71 bus, and get off at Moran station,

and use the subway. Or you can use the No. 9408 bus and transfer

using No. 471 bus. But the most convenient method is just to use the No. 9003 buses.

To go to Incheon international airport from the Seongnam city hall,

you can ride No. 15, No. 16, No. 220 bus, or No. 9403, 9607 buses,

which is the red bus, and go to the Yatap s bus terminal,

and ride the No. 5300 bus which is the airport limousine.

What is Mong Yu Do Won Do

English: Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land
Korean: 몽유도원도 (夢遊桃源圖)Mongyu-dowon-do

Mong yu do won do means ‘peaches field in dream’ in Chinese. In 1447(Sejong 29), The Ann pung general officer dreamed about the peaches field and ordered the Ann kyoun to draw about it. The Mong yu do won do includes the Ann pung general officer and 20 other great scholars’ writings .The surprised fact is that Ann Kyoun finished the painting in 3 days. Most Professors assume that the Mong yu do won do was plundered by Japanese soldiers during the war. Now the Mon yu do won do is Japanese important cultural properties. And it is protected in the Japan Tenry University.

There are various reasons that Mongyudowondo is very valuable. Firstly, Mongyudowondo is only Ankyun's painting that people found until now. He is one of the famous artists in Joseon dynasty that painted it. Also, this painting is very famous in the world. Next, it is about prince Anpyung's dream. When prince Anpyung dreamed about traveling paradise, he ordered Ankyun to draw it. Last reason, there is not only the painting but also admiring poetrys. The poetrys were written by Anpyung's friends who had good ability to write poem.

This painting now enjoys an excellent national reputation as a great national treasure, with its subtle brush-strokes granting fascinating detail and a vibrant idealistic spirit. But it was not so well known before around 1990, as it was stolen by the Japanese invaders during the 1592-98 Imjin War and has been kept in Japan ever since. Its current "owner" Tenri University has refused to return it to Korea, but has permitted it to visit Seoul twice for special exhibitions that thrilled the lovers of Oriental landscape paintings. A wonderful recent development is that an exact reproduction of it has been made, and is now on display in the Landscape Paintings Room.

Taxi

 Taxi

                                                           written by : PJH

There are various ways that people can move. For example, subway, bus, car…… Among this transportation, what is the fastest transportation?

It is Taxi

In today’s indication about the transportation that we can use in the South Korea, I want to recommend and explain about the taxi.

1.    What is Taxi?  A car and driver that you pay to take you somewhere.

2.    Let’s analyze the types of taxi in Korea. There are two type of taxi. First general taxi and exemplar taxi.

General taxi: it is just a taxi. Just ordinary.

You can use this taxi with cheaper price than the exemplar taxi. Base rate of this general taxi is 2200won to 3000won. It is different to the region.

Then, what is exemplar taxi????

Exemplar taxi: It is the taxi which is expansive. That what is advantage? Umm… maybe it is safer because that title is given to the taxi driver who didn’t make any accident. However fatal disadvantage of it is….. It is expansive.

Like this, it is black. Most of the exemplar taxi is expansive cars. Also many drivers of this taxi are able to speak foreign language, English. The base rate of this taxi is about 5000won. Pretty expansive huh?

3.    When we have to pay the money??

A: User should pay money when they get off from taxi.

4.    When there is no taxi nearby, what can we do??

A.    Don’t worry. Korea is the developed country of IT. When you call to the call center, you are able to call the taxi next to you. But, you should know this. When you call the taxi next to you, 1000won is added to the price!!

B.    The number of the call center is differnet to the regions. Therefore you should search for it!!

I can give you one number for the people who live in the Gyeonggi region.

Call to the 1688-9999, then, they will help you to call the taxi next to you.

The most important point!!!!!!!!!

If you can't speak korean, or you can't communicate with the Korean diver well,
you can use the 'international taxi' which is for the foriegn people.

Good luck!!
